Linden is a town on the Demerara River in northeast Guyana. The Linden Museum of Socio-Cultural Heritage, in a former recreation hall, has displays on the local bauxite-mining industry. The large, iron Christianburg Waterwheel stands as a reminder of the town’s sawmilling operations in the 1800s. To the west, near Rockstone village, Gluck Island is known for its water lilies and abundant birdlife.
